Role of library:

Indeed, libraries are the backbone of academic institutions, playing a pivotal role in supporting educational programs. Their primary function is to curate, acquire, process, and provide access to a diverse range of learning resources, making them readily available to both faculty and students. This crucial role is underscored by Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, a pioneering figure in library science development in India, who aptly described the library as a trinity comprising learning resources, the academic community, and the dedicated library staff. This triad forms the foundation of a vibrant and dynamic learning ecosystem within educational institutions.

Libraries go beyond being mere repositories of books; they serve as knowledge hubs that facilitate teaching, learning, and research endeavors. They ensure that faculty members have access to the latest research materials, enabling them to stay at the forefront of their respective fields. Simultaneously, students benefit from a wealth of resources that support their coursework, homework, and research projects, thus fostering academic excellence. This symbiotic relationship between libraries, educators, and learners underscores the library's indispensable role in the pursuit of knowledge within the college setting. Moreover, libraries play a pivotal role in promoting information literacy and cultivating a culture of research and inquiry. They offer guidance and assistance to users, helping them navigate the vast sea of information effectively, critically evaluate sources, and develop essential research skills. Libraries often organize workshops, training sessions, and access to online databases, ensuring that users are well-equipped to harness the power of information in the digital age.

In essence, libraries are dynamic and adaptive institutions that cater to the ever-evolving needs of the academic community. They are not merely physical spaces filled with books but vibrant centers of intellectual growth, collaboration, and cultural preservation, making them an integral part of the educational journey. Dr. S.R. Ranganathan's perspective serves as a timeless reminder of the harmonious relationship that libraries forge between resources, faculty, students, and the dedicated library professionals who facilitate this enriching experience.
